Education Philosophy: "Rapport building is an essential component of every educational interaction between the teacher and their new student. I actively cultivate the teacher/student relationship bond while simutaneously facilitating the learning goals of the lesson. Students must know that they can be vulnerable in the learning process while knowing that I will be there to fully support them, as they stretch and grow as a learner."
Kelsey Feehan has focused most of her education and career on teaching students with varying disabilities. She graduated from the University of South Florida with a bachelor’s degree in Special Education and a master’s degree in Autism Spectrum Disorders and Severe Intellectual Disabilities. In addition, she is certified to teach K-12 and has endorsements in reading, ESOL (English Speakers of Other Languages), and Autism. After she returned to Jacksonville, she worked under multiple Behavior Analysts to earn her certification as a Registered Behavior Technician. She has worked with students of all ages, from pre-kindergarten to high school. One of her greatest passions is traveling, including a one month backpacking trip through Europe and a 12-day road trip to Maine and back!
Education Philosophy: "The umbrella of education includes life skills, social skills, vocational skills, and independent functioning skills - in addition to the equally crucial academic skills. The need for support in each of these skill sets will vary for each individual student. With the right balance of passion and patience, any student is capable of growing."
